Kurdistan: the regime's security forces initiating a new case against a Kurdish political prisoner

On April 9, 2025, Mohammad Rasoulpoor, a Kurdish political prisoner from “Shino” (Oshnaviyeh) currently serving a year and a half sentence, has been charged with "propaganda against the regime" following the launch of a new case by the regime's security forces. He is required to appear before the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in “Shnio” (Oshnaviyeh) within five days.
According to reports received by Kurdistan Human Rights Association in Geneva, a human rights group, the alleged charges dated April 8, 2025, was issued by Mir. Naghir Seyedrazi, the prosecutor of the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of “Shino”, requiring him. Rasoulpoor to appear at court regarding accusations of "conducting and promoting activities in favor of Kurdish opposition groups."
According to an informed source; that this allegation was delivered to Mr. Rasoulpoor on April 9, 2025, in “Snu” central Prison.
Furthermore, the source added that Mohammad Rasoulpoor has previously submitted several requests to be transferred to open prison, however, these requests have been denied by the intelligence services in “Shino” (Oshnaviyeh)
On Saturday, November 16, 2024, Rasoulpoor was transferred to Shino (Oshnaviyeh) Prison to serve his sentence of one year and six months for baseless accusations of "connections and membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties and propaganda against the regime."
On the evening of Tuesday, July 2, 2024, Mohammad Rasoulpoor from the village of "Kohneh Qaleh" in Shio (Oshnaviyeh), was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant. He was subsequently released on July 22, 2024, after 12 days in detention, by posting a bail of 600 million tomans pending court proceedings.
In October 2024, Mr. Rasoulpour was sentenced to two years of imprisonment on charges of "connections and membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties and conducting propaganda against the regime." by the Revolutionary Court of Oshnaviyeh, presided by Judge Ali Ansari, This sentence was later reduced to one year and six months of imprisonment under Article 442 of the penal code.
Ultimately, on November 16, 2023, Mohammad Rasoulpoor was transferred to Oshnaviyeh Prison to serve his sentence.
